Edward McInerny is our neurology Physician Assistant. He’s trained under and worked closely with Dr. Izzo and Dr. Tisdell for nearly his entire career. During this time they’ve formed a close, trusting, and collaborative relationship.
He completed his undergraduate work at the University of Massachusetts Amherst where he graduated cum laude with a double major in Microbiology and Biochemistry/Molecular biology. He also obtained a certificate in biotechnology.
After his undergraduate work, he took a position as a sleep technologist performing overnight sleep studies. He completed his Masters in Physician Assistant Studies at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University in Worcester. His master’s thesis was a review of studies investigating the role sleep apnea plays in the development of hypertension.
He has a special interest in sleep medicine, headaches, and Parkinson’s disease, but he treats all neurological conditions. He also has experience in both urgent care and primary care. This broad exposure to a wide array of medical conditions has allowed him to better understand and address patient’s medical needs and concerns.
When he’s not working he enjoys sports, cooking, spending time with his girlfriend and their dog, and general fitness.
