Dr. Rifat Sharif is board certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She provides psychiatric care to adults with emphasis in anxiety, depression and mood disorders. She takes great care to get to know her patients and the multi-faceted issues they face. She is encouraged by the new treatments and technologies that are becoming available to treat many of the common and not- so-common disorders. 

She completed her psychiatry residency at the Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in New York and also served as a chief resident during her fourth year of residency. Dr Sharif joined UMASS medical school as an Assistant Professor and has been working at Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital where she has been treating patients with chronic illnesses. She has also been involved in mentoring medical student during their psychiatry clerkship and received medical student teaching award. 

She is a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society and the American Psychiatric Association. 

She is actively involved in the community and has been volunteering in free medical clinic in Worcester which aims to provide basic healthcare to needy and uninsured people in greater Worcester area. When she has free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and watching movies.
