Edward McInerny is our Neurology and Sleep Medicine Physician Assistant and lead advanced practice provider (APP.) He trained under Dr. Izzo and Dr. Tisdell and has been working with them for 9 years. He and the physicians in the group have formed a trusting, and collaborative relationship. He currently treats patients with headaches, sleep issues, or memory problems. He has a special interest in exercise physiology, nutrition, and preventative medicine. In addition to his experience in neurology and sleep, he has close to 8 years of experience in both urgent and primary care. This exposure to a wide array of medical conditions has allowed him to better understand and address patient’s medical needs and concerns.

Ed completed his undergraduate work at the University of Massachusetts – Amherst where he graduated cum laude with a double major in Microbiology and Biochemistry/Molecular biology. He also obtained a certificate in biotechnology. After his undergraduate work he took a position as a sleep technologist performing overnight sleep studies, before attending PA school. He completed his Masters in Physician Assistant Studies at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University in Worcester. His master’s thesis was a review of studies investigating the role Obstructive Sleep Apnea plays in the development of hypertension (high blood pressure.)

When he’s not working he enjoys video/board games, reading, sports, cooking, and general fitness.
